Is it time for a reset?

Is it time for a reset?

Have you noticed the term “conscious consumption” coming up more and more?

We have and after reading about it, we were wondering why it has been coming up more often in cannabis conversations.

Simply put, conscious consumption is being mindful of how much of the plant you consume. Conversations around ‘mindfulness’ have been increasing in differing areas, not just cannabis. Parents are encouraged to become ‘conscious parents’ which is a child-rearing philosophy that encourages parents to make mindful, emotionally intelligent decisions in raising their children.

We’ve been using cannabis products for a while and have noticed that there are times when we have naturally reduced our cannabis intakes or have chosen to abstain for long periods of time. The reasons behind the changes in consumption have differed, but the result has been consistent… When we return to cannabis, our tolerance is substantially lower than when we stopped.

Here are some steps to figure out if it's time for a cannabis reset.

Stopping to ask questions is a step towards practicing mindfulness. We don't always notice if we're consuming more often or consider why there may have been an increase. Increased stress is a major reason we increase our cannabis consumption. Boredom is another reason, and pausing to think about it can open us to resolving the underlying causes.

Reducing your cannabis consumption can give the body time to restore CB1 receptors so THC has somewhere to go. Being mindful of increasing cannabis consumption can help to reduce waste and save money.

Benefits of taking a break

The first blunt after taking a break from cannabis hits different. We have learned to be very careful about how we reintroduce cannabis back into our routines and do not resume our previous consumption levels. We have been amazed at how little it can take to feel a significant effect. This has encouraged us to be more mindful of future increases.

Here are some ways to reset:

Keep an eye on your dosage

Taking time to reset may change your routine. It’s important to be mindful of the physical, mental, or emotional shifts you may experience during the reset. Being gentle with yourself during this time can help you notice any withdrawal symptoms and treat them accordingly.
